Measurement & Verification (M&V)

mv

Energy consumption in existing buildings must be reduced, both to cope with the rising cost of utilities (Electricity, Water & Gas) and respond to government pressures. An implicit accounting for the energy efficiency upgrades requires Measurement and Verification (M&V). Our M&V services adopt the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) as the basis. This is the most widely accepted protocol for energy savings measurement & verification.

Our M&V services typically cover:

  • Analysis of  monthly utility bills & compilation of reference database
  • Generate benchmarks (Energy Utilization Index-EUI, & Cost Performance Index) for comparison against similar facilities in the similar climate group.
  • Establishment of baseline to compare energy consumption and cost performance.
  • Adjust the baseline to account for variances in weather, occupancy or changes in building characteristics.
  • Development of an M&V plan
  • Conducting post-retrofit M&V
  • Monitoring and adjustment of energy savings
  • Issuing of M&V reports
  • Report on reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) after completion of energy efficiency projects.
  • Monitoring and tracking of long-term energy savings & GHG emissions.

Green Target’s in-house staffs are Certified Measurement & Verification Professionals (CMVP) by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the Efficiency Valuation Organization (www.evo.org). This expertise gives us an advantage in providing Measurement & Verification Services to our wide-variety of clients.
